Feel free to distribute this information.

1. James Edgecomb, Community Services Director of the Arizona
Conference, passed away. He had previously been a pastor, conference
youth director, and a conference president.

2. Mike Tucker, pastor of the Arlington, Texas Church, is considering
becoming the speaker director of the FAITH FOR TODAY ministry.

3. A lady wrote to the Retirement Office saying that she was so
thankful for the monthly news letter, REFLECTIONS, that goes to
retirees. She had felt some heaviness in her chest, but kept working.
When her husband handed her the mail for the day, she read an article in
the newsletter about taking care of your heart. She told her husband
about her feeling, and he called 911. She was taken to the hospital,
and a stent was put in to clear a blocked artery. She said, "I know
that God was guiding and sent your article to me just when I needed
it."

4. Hundreds of thousands of copies of materials printed by both the
Review and Herald and the Pacific Press have been handed out at sites
where the movie, THE PASSION, is being shown. The Review has printed a
book containing the last several chapters of the Desire of Ages. The
Pacific Press has printed over a half million copies of a small special
issue of the SIGNS, largely taken from the book MESSIAH. Many people
are planning to be at theaters across our land on Easter week-end
handing out these materials. Some are mailing the materials to every
home in their area. A condensed brochure has been prepared in Spanish.

5. The number of people donating to LIFE TALK RADIO is up by three
times for the same period as last year. Also the number of contacts for
Bible Studies has increased.

6. Two hundred fifty members of the community met at a LaSierra area
restauurant to celebrate that 10 year anniversary of Larry Geraty as
president of LaSierra University. Community people spoke of his
involvement in community issues, and how the campus is a beautiful part
of the Riverside area. A special surprise during the event was the
announcement of a 1 million dollar gift which will provide for an
endowed chair named in honor of Dr. Thomas Geraty, the father of Larry
who is 90, but still volunteers at the University.
