When the Bible says that John the Baptist ate a diet of locusts and honey (Mark 1:6), some understand that his diet was vegetarian and that the locusts referred to was carob, which is also called locust bean.
BUT- locusts were permitted by the Levitical law as a clean meat.
Locusts and grasshoppers are perhaps the best known insects in the Bible. Scripture contains about a dozen words that describe them, indicating either different species or maybe different stages of their development.
Locusts are prepared as food in various ways. Sometimes they were pounded, mixed with flour and water and made into cakes. They were also boiled, roasted or stewed in butter and then eaten.
They were also eaten in a preserved state by the Assyrians.
The desert locust (Heb- arbeh) was the locust of the Egyptian plague (Ex.10:4-5). Not only was the arbeh destructive, it was edible.
The solam is the "bald locust" of Leviticus 11:22 (KJV) and was also allowed for food.

Once we get to heaven will we find out that only vegetarians are there?
Oh ... I forgot ... Jesus was not a vegetarian.
Now I remember ... Veges are a new age invention.

Apparently ... Jesus did not follow Adam and Eve.
I call myself a Christian or a follower of Jesus Christ.

Yes, Jesus ate meat, well at least fish, but we can be assured that he was a good Jew who followed the diet plan given to Moses
And maybe His mother gave him carob cookies to eat as well, sweetened with honey, but not too much!

Jesus ate fish and therefore was not a vegetarian as Adam and Eve. As a Christian ... I follow Jesus not Adam and Eve.

HEY
GOD AND JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT all were at the creation. GOD gave ADAM AN EVE in the garden of EDEN a original diet which was frutis grains and nuts. we as follows of JESUS are going from EDEN LOST TO EDEN SAVE which means to me that we will be eating the original diet in heaven.
as for now while we are on this earth as long as one does not eat the unclean meat any other choices is betwen you and GOD AND JESUS

Strange that JESUS didn't do this. JESUS didn't follow a vegetarian diet.
Did He sin? Why didn't he follow the Eden Diet?

Jesus ate more than fish. Every Jew had to partake in passover lamb supper. They ate lamb. Jesus was no different. He was the lamb of the passover, yet he ate lamb. It was a command from God to do so. You had no option to be a vegetarian in Israel.
The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, 2 "This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. 3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb [a] for his family, one for each household. 4 If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat. 5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats. 6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight. 7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs. 8 That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast. 9 Do not eat the meat raw or cooked in water, but roast it over the fire—head, legs and inner parts. 10 Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it. 11 This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the LORD's Passover.
I think it illustrates that God is concerned more with our spiritual health than with our physical one.
Furthermore, Biblically, I don't see kosher laws pertaining to eating that were established prior to covenant with Moses. Quite the opposite:
Genesis 9
3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
4 "But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. 5 And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man.
6 "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man.
So the requirements since flood till Israel were... don't kill and eat people, and don't kill and eat anything that is pregnant. I don't see where anybody would devolve that after the flood the kosher laws were in effect. Are there any verses that would provide that proof?
P.S. I am myself a vegetarian, and I strongly believe that killing animals for food was not a part of God's original plan. But the death around us is to be a constant reminder that we are not in a perfect world.
