Club Adventist
Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. Ps.138:7

We certainly have the assurance of salvation . What else matters in this life here on earth.

In this verse we see the promise of God's help in a PRESENT trouble- like, RIGHT NOW!

In the margin of my Bible it states this verse is referring to Salvation. I guess I will have to ask someone with an understanding of Hebrew. Any Hebrew scolars out there?

I find that most promises in the Bible are central to the issue of Salvation. God is concerned primarily with our Salvation and most of the Bible is pointing to how we can survive this earth with our Salvation intact despite life's challenges. It is not about getting away from trials but getting through them.

Thanks for the insight- and I don't see any conflict

In the context of salvation, who do you see as the wrathful enemies spoken of in the verse?

I think the enemies of good are to many to list. It is Satan's goal to get us diverted from our commitment to Jesus. The enemies of good are many. But God gives us all we need to combat what we need in the battle with Satan.

God's right hand WILL save us and we can be assured of that.
My point is that it is through trials that we GROW. God will not do away with the trials of this earth while we battle Satan. But His right hand WILL save us in the end.

Good point- God does not remove trials from His people; otherwise people would become followers just to have their problems removed!

But He does promise to help us in our time of need- those hard times of testing or perhaps physical trouble that may threaten our faith and patience

I would point out that God is interested in our salvation. Many Christians are so short term focused that they are to interested in the current trials of this life which are really there for our good.

This may be the reason that most of our prayers are not answered. God wants us to grow through our trials not escape them.

And what is that growth? Perhaps growing into a completely trustful dependance on God. We might even be able to put all our burdens on Him so fully that we can escape them? At least the spiritual trials.
