Ah! what a difference our attitude makes! By doing the demeaning tasks as we would if we were doing them for Jesus personally, they are no longer drudgery, but a pleasure.

But, we say, what a pleasure it would give us to perform the humblest task for Jesus. And He says, "Inasmuch as you have done it unto these, my brethren, you have done it unto Me."

God bless

And the Bible also talks about, "those that are faithful in that which is least"

You never know- one day as a result of your faithfulness you may be granted greater responsibilities!

I always tell kids that good employees are hard to find, and employers know that

Thanks Gail for those kind words.

I will probably be the missing person over this weekend. We have our Annual Campmeeting, and am behind in what I should have prepared, but === we will get there! And we will have a wonderful time.

The program overall looks great. It coincides with the 20th birthday of our Adventist Health Association of WA, so we will have some celebratory moments. Our AHA guest speaker is going to be dealing with the drug problem that is, unfortunately, making some inroads among our own young people. We will also be having our usual cooking demonstrations, which always give us a full marquee. We have also prepared a recipe collection which we hope to sell.

So, have a great Easter. I will be back!

Yes, I am all too familiar with the drug problems of our young people. It is for them that my daughter is training to become a counsellor at Walla Walla right now.

Your Campmeeting sounds like it will be exciting! Please give us a report when you return

Well, Campmeeting is over (and I am recovering!!!). We had a great AHA Birthday Party, and we sold all 70 copies of our Cookbook, with many more requests, and, yes, we will be printing some more. Our tent was crowded for the free Health Age Assessment, and our doctor was kept busy doing cholesterol checks and Blood Sugar levels. The cooking demonstrations were well attended, and our speakers had full halls of listeners. All in all we felt that everything was a success. Now -- back to work!!

Gary's talks on drugs were very enlightening. There is, in Sydney, an experimental Injection Centre where drug users can (in apparent "safety") do their injecting. However, Gary produced the evidence that showed how much they had fudged the figures to try to prove how many lives they "had saved", when, in fact, their results were worse than for those who chose to inject on the streets!

God bless,

Beryl

Well, this "stay at home" will be rather short! I was supposed to go to Wiluna (a small town out in the desert, teaching nutrition to the aborigines)on the 23rd, but I had been given wrong information. I now find out that I fly out this coming Monday (16th) at 6 am! I will be there for a week, spending the Sabbath with the group of Adventists in their church.

It is a stone building going back some 50+ years, and has recently been refurbished, inside and out. It is the only church in the town, and some who are not Adventists come for no other reason than that they want to have some place to worship.

We have around 20 regular worshippers. The Catholic church closed down some time ago after being cared for by the lone remaining Catholic nun for a number of years. When she was shifted away the church closed. The only other place of "worship"???? is the hotel, and unfortunately, they are never short of "worshippers".

We have a resident minister -- at the moment he is a dedicated layperson who also has the care of 2 other churches. These are very small groups, one at Meekatharra and the other at Cue. Meekatharra is several hour's drive away, over a road that requires a 4-wheel drive. There is a lovely church, but the numbers have diminished. Cue is about an hour's drive further on, this time over an excellent road.

In Wiluna the Adventist members as a whole are held in good respect in the town, some holding responsible positions in the Shire office and the Aboriginal Medical Centre. One of these is a Fijian gentleman who had been a pastor, but who had the vision of being able to be of more influence for the Lord working in an area like this as a layperson. He now holds a responsible position in the Aboriginal Medical Centre, and has been instrumental in obtaining Commonwealth Government funding for this "Building Healthy Communities" program. He has the respect of the various mining companies in the area, and they have also put funds into this program. Each time I visit Wiluna I have been flown there, free of charge, in one of the various mining companies' planes. Zac's funding for this project runs out at the end of this year, so I don't know what will happen after that, but I am sure the Lord will have something else prepared for the work to continue. I feel that it is a real privilege to be able to assist in programs such as this.

Which brings me at last to the next part of our study of the "Work and the Life" of a Christian.

Some of these members have little education, but their lives are "different" to those around them. They have an influence as others note that difference.

God bless,

Beryl

That is the beauty of grace, that God values each of us far more than we imagine. Knowing this inspires us to keep going and to find satisfaction even in the little tasks of ministry

Beryl, the work among the aborigines sounds fascinating!

Unfortunately, there has been a death of a relative in a "nearby" community (about 700 km or so away), and this means that, wherever possible, all relatives have a duty to attend -- which means that there won't be anyone to talk to in the Wiluna community where we were planning the afternoon program. Well, that is the way it is! Instead we will be holding 2 programs a day in the town. Oh, well -- there will always be a "next time"!

Not sure how much posting I will do from Wiluna. I do not have the internet where I will be staying, but apparently arrangements have been made for me to go to the Aboriginal Medical Service office each day, and I can then download my eamila, and also send any that I have prepared. But that doesn't include time on the internet! I will "play this by ear" and see what happens.

This is the final paragraph in the chapter of "Steps to Christ" that we have been studying.

 Quote:
The humblest and poorest of the disciples of Jesus can be a blessing to others. They may not realize that they are doing any special good, but by their unconscious influence they may start waves of blessing that will widen and deepen, and the blessed results they may never know until the day of final reqard. They do not feel or know that they are doing anything great. They are not required to weary themselves with anxiety about success. They have only to go forward quietly, doing faithfully the work that God's providence assigns, and their life will not be in vain. Their own souls will be growing more and more into the likeness of Christ; they are workers together with God in this life and are thus fitting for the higher work and the unshadowed joy of the life to come."

WOW!! there is a lot of food for thought there!

God bless,

Beryl
