Of the Jewish holy days and festivals, a favourite was the annual Harvest Festival, called the Feast of Tabernacles. It was also called the Feast of Booths or the Ingathering.
Just like Thanksgiving, this holiday took place after all the summer's harvest had been gathered in and stored away.
To commemorate their past wanderings in the desert wilderness, the Jews camped out for a week. Tents were made from branches and cloth, either in the front yard or up on the rooftops (Lev.23:42)

It's placement in the Fall Festivals also point forward to its final fulfillment in the harvesting of the righteous at Jesus 2nd return in clouds of glory as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
