Here is a question or two I might ask my Sabbath School class:
1. How does serving the Lord bring happiness to ourselves and to those around us?
2. How does the world destroy happiness while trying to bring people "happiness"?
Here are some situations I might pose to my class. What is the end result of this supposed happiness? What does the situation give others in the way of happiness? What does the Bible have to say about this type of happiness?
1. A husband finds what he thinks is real happiness by constantly viewing online pornography and buying the services of "ladies of the street".
2. A businessman aggressively buys up companies and sells them piece by piece to other companies. He makes a lot of money doing this - this is what he view as happiness.
3. A preacher pushes to get the maximum amount of converts any way he can, finding what he thinks is happiness in the awards and attention he gets from his religious superiors.
4. A news reporter really enjoys being in front of the camera and exposing those whom he thinks are doing something wrong and comparing them to the most evil situation he can. This he finds is happiness.
