Occasionally I have talents that are even hidden from me. Not usually but hey ... I amaze myself now that you point it out. All in fun. All in fun.

As some here know about ... I believe in perfection ... so I like to comment on it as much as possible.

I didn't get it, Pam... and had to look into an encyclopaedia...

These artifacts might easily be mistaken for utensils used and owned by Chewbacky of Star-Wars fame except that they were manufactured here on Earth in the early 20th century, probably by Man Ray or Marcel Duchamp.

Although the landscape in this photo looks otherworldly (planet of the Tribbles?) it lays in the high plains of Bolivia, South America, Planet Earth.

Some of this *art* is only considered to be *art* because of the reputation of the artist. Someone else who has no reputation in the art world could paint/sculpt/solder/build/photograph the same thing, and be ridiculed, pointed at, silently laughed at or completely ignored..

My grandaughter makes some beautiful drawings.

What makes art art?

Skill?
Beauty?
Realism?
Novelty?

Maybe its just another game humans play.

I've not considered the question much, charis, but I've an idea art is that which deepens our appreciation of life and the world, and gives us fresh viewpoints for our stale ones. Art should wake us up out of the everyday humdrum drone ... it should help us to fly above the fog...

In my seven-year-old grandaughter's case, her art is a celebration of the things she loves... animals...mermaids...
