As I said before the Sheriff explained this. He thought that there would be a tele conference so he did not authorize the deputies to get Paris Hiltion. Not until the judge ordered that did he send his men to get Paris.
The tele conference option was explained by the Sheriff and that option is allowed by the courts in Misdemeanor cases IF REQUESTED. But it is not advertised so it is not surprising you have not heard of it. I did not either before this case.
The picture of Paris being dragged into court is an exaggeration. But Paris is correct when she wailed "This is not fair" It is not fair. She is being singled out for harsher treatment. Even the Media admits that the judge is singleing out Paris Hilton to make a public example of her.
I wonder if the judge is up for an election in a year or so. That would explain his unreasonableness in this case. Why he is treating Paris more harshly than the average person would be for the SAME offense. I would like to see your sources, as I am not finding it on the main media watchs... Now, some of the less than sterling sources are mentioning some of what you are saying, but nothing that I would call solid sources.... And while I am not questioning your verasity, I am just not seeing what you are seeing.... I mean, it's one thing is the judge gets up on the wrong side of the bed, and throws the book at you...It's totally different when Justice is NOT blind.

Most get out after serving 10 percent of their time. Paris is being kept in jail for the full term when others get out in a few days to no jail time at all. Do you know this for a fact or are you just repeating what you have heard from all those spin-doctors?

Controversial ruling On Saturday, however, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer’s order to return her to custody was sparking controversy, with television pundits and others debating whether he had overstepped his bounds in overruling Baca.
The sheriff later defended his decision, citing jail crowding (although Hilton was in special unit and did not have a cellmate) and what he termed “severe medical problems.”
He said he had learned from one of her doctors that she was not taking a certain medication while previously in custody, and that her “inexplicable deterioration” puzzled county psychiatrists.
Baca also charged that Hilton received a more severe sentence than the usual penalty for such a crime, but said he would not try to overrule Sauer’s decision again.
“The criminal justice system should not create a football out of Ms. Hilton’s status,” the sheriff said grimly at a press conference.
MSNBC
That fact about the 10 percent of time served on average for misdemeanors was said by the sheriff at the news conference. It was all over the news yesterday. I did not make that up.

Do you know this for a fact or are you just repeating what you have heard from all those spin-doctors? That was directly from the Sheriff at the news conference. Are you now calling the Sheriff Baca a spin doctor?

I was getting all my sources from Fox news yesterday. Also Sheriff Baca in the news conference also mentioned that. If you had watched his entire news conference you would have gotten a lot of info about this case and what let up to all this.

Hilton’s attorney, Richard Hutton, implored the judge to order a hearing in his chambers to hear testimony about Hilton’s medical condition before making a decision. The judge did not respond to that suggestion. Another of her attorneys, Steve Levine, said, “The sheriff has determined that because of her medical situation, (jail) is a dangerous place for her.” “The court’s role here is to let the Sheriff’s Department run the jail,” he said. Judge didn't receive papers from sheriff The judge interrupted several times to say that he had received a call last Wednesday from an undersheriff informing him that Hilton had a medical condition and that he would submit papers to the judge to consider. He said the papers never arrived. Every few minutes, the judge would interrupt proceedings, state the time on the clock, and note that the papers still had not arrived. He also noted that he had heard that a private psychiatrist visited Hilton in jail, and he wondered if that person played a role in deciding her medical needs. The last attorney to speak was another deputy city attorney, David Bozanich, who declared, “This is a simple case. There was a court order. The Sheriff’s Department chose to violate that order. There is no ambiguity.” http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19102663/

L.A. County Sheriff Lee Baca claims there was simply no room at his jail for a "low-level offender" like Paris Hilton -- and her "severe" medical problems were only getting worse. In a statement to the press, Baca said, "There's 20,000 inmates -- the largest jail system in the United States ... It's very overcrowded." According to Baca, 90% of the inmates in L.A. County jail are serious felons -- many held on murder charges or attempted murder charges. Paris was one of the "low level" offenders -- who usually serve 10% of their sentences. Baca also said that he reassigned Hilton based on "her severe medical problems," and confirmed TMZ's original story that her condition was mental. Baca said that her "increasingly deteriorating problems" were evaluated and added, "This lady has some severe problems." Baca added that she was medicated when she originally entered the jail system ... and "I can't trust her tenuous status," referring to her mental state. "She had a severe problem," said Baca, "I need more cooperation from the courts and from the city attorney's office." For now, Baca says he will comply with the court order and keep her behind bars -- "If there's any further deterioration, hopefully we'll be able to address it." http://www.tmz.com/2007/06/08/sheriff-baca-this-lady-has-severe-problems/You know guys if you would JUST GOOGLE the question you would find this info yourself rather than having me spoonfeed this stuff to you.
