What did you think about Thursday's lesson for July 5?

"Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you" Gen 3:16

Is there any parellel to another vs 3:16 that I am aware of?

Being a man ... I should keep quiet on this topic. But I would love to hear what the rest of you think. Particularly the WOMEN.

redwood. I'm not a woman, but perhaps I can share a few of my thoughts on this passage. These are my good wife's thoughts too.

A woman cannot respect a husband who isn't a spiritual leader.

I made this statement at a marriage seminar two years ago. After the presentation I was approached by three woman (wives) who said that this was absolutely truth (one with tears).

I made the statement based on my study of Genesis 3:16, and have repeated it many times since then. A spiritual leader is also one who cares for the heart of his wife, and respects her feelings.

The "rule over you", could mean a couple of things. Perhaps one who leads out is intended here, coupled with numerous other Biblical statements. Sometimes the husband needs to make the final decision on something--let him do so humbly and with prayer to God.
