Here is a question I might ask my Sabbath School class to get the discussion started:
How did Isaac and Rebekah relate to each of the twins?

This story was so interesting because there were so many different things going on, Jacob used Esau's state of hunger to gain advantage over him, Esau didn't bother to tell Isaac that he had traded his birthright for food, Jacob was concerned about the appearance of deception by his father because of the curse it might bring to him rather then the action itself. Esau obviously was not a man of his word for he failed to mention to Isaac that he had traded his birthright for lentil soup! Rebekah seems to be painted in a dark light but so many actions and reactions make it hard to no who really was concerned about obeying God. In the NT Jesus says we are to be as harmless as doves but cunning as foxes.... Crazy how we still struggle with these same actions and reactions today!
