Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with

Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

Here is a question I might ask my Sabbath School class to get the discussion started:

How did Isaac and Rebekah relate to each of the twins?
The biggest problem with the way Isaac & Rebekah raised twins was:

Esau might have been the ancestor of Jesus if Isaac and Rebekah had used their parenting skills a little bit differently.

Abraham's method of finding a wife for Isaac is one Christians should definitely use today.

This story was so interesting because there were so many different things going on, Jacob used Esau's state of hunger to gain advantage over him, Esau didn't bother to tell Isaac that he had traded his birthright for food, Jacob was concerned about the appearance of deception by his father because of the curse it might bring to him rather then the action itself. Esau obviously was not a man of his word for he failed to mention to Isaac that he had traded his birthright for lentil soup! Rebekah seems to be painted in a dark light but so many actions and reactions make it hard to no who really was concerned about obeying God. In the NT Jesus says we are to be as harmless as doves but cunning as foxes.... Crazy how we still struggle with these same actions and reactions today!

The problem with child raising between Jabob and Esau, their parent plays favoritism. As God has already instructed/foretold Isaac during the birth of the two that the younger ( Jacob) will rule the older (Esau) and that the birthright will really be for Jacob and not for Esau. Both parents knew it already; the foretold instruction really happened but in a negative way. Because Isaac plays favoritism, he wants that Esau (his favorite son) will receive the blessing though God already instructed him to give it to the younger. The conflict starts there. Betrayal pops up... ( mainly because of the couple) ROFL
