Well, it is a little sad at first but I am sure God is guiding things and this is the result of much prayer and surrender. I will continue to support both ministries.

I can go back to watching Amazing Facts now without that nagging feeling that something is not right.

I knew that Doug B was a man of integrity. My husband and I attended Sacramento Central Church and met him when we travelled to the US in February, and I have a lot of respect for him.

I almost fell over when I first heard about the proposed merger between 3ABN and Amazing Facts. Surely, I thought, he would not risk Amazing Facts' reputation and ministry while there are so many unanswered questions about what is going on at 3ABN.

Apart from the questions over 3ABN, it sounded as if there were a lot of practical issues stemming from the merger, that would be hard to overcome. I understand the AF workers somehow come under the denominational wage umbrella, whereas fairly recently 3ABN has declared itself to be nondenominational and its workers would not be so entitled.

we obviously don't know the details and perhaps shouldn't speculate. However I think it fair to say if Doug B. would have become the president of the new organization, it would would have brought about a new perception of 3ABN in the minds of most. If I were to venture to guess, I suspect the geographical locations of the two ministries became a major issue with neither one of them willing to relocate and no practical solution to work it out. How, for example, could Doug B continue to be pastor of the Sacramento church while being the president of 3ABN?

Well, whatever the reason they chose not to merge at this time, I am really glad. I'd prefer for Doug's ministry to stay as it is. I like his approach and his books, and am afraid these might change if he merged with another ministry. I don't dislike 3ABN either; it's just that they are two verey different ministries. I like them both, but I feel strongly that Amazing Facts is desperately needed.

I've met Doug personally and I was very impressed with his sincerity and genuineness. That cave in which he lived near Palm Springs is only a few miles from where I work and live. I intend to hike up to it some time and stay for a couple of days.

I am glad to hear the final decision. I think time will reveal that AF is best to operate on their own. All the best to both ministries.

ATODAY NEWSBREAK just reported that Danny Shelton was conspicuous by his absence at the recent ASI convention (held Aug. 1-5 in Louisville, Kentucky), and well-placed insiders have said Danny will soon be retiring as head of 3ABN.

This article confirmed the previous news that there will be no merger between 3ABN and Doug Batchelor's Amazing Facts ministry.

There are so many rumors flying around at the moment, I do hope for the sake of all the employees and the ministry itself, some acceptable clarity can be achieved soon.
