"The trick is distinguishing between versions of a gene that have spread by chance and those that have spread because they confer an advantage. To use a hypothetical example, 40 per cent of people might have the gene for hairy feet because our hunter-gatherer ancestors with hairy feet were less likely to freeze to death at night. On the other hand, people with hairy feet might have been no more or less likely to leave descendants. In this case, the gene could have reached the 40 per cent level by chance alone - a process known as genetic drift." found at http://www.newscientist.com/channel/life/evolution/dn2908That means its just chance unless there is some advantage to having hairy feet. Do you find hairy feet attractive? (on men?):)

Oh, I love hair on men. hehehe But the hair on my feet don't keep them warm at night. And what if one doesn't believe in evolution?

And what if one doesn't believe in evolution? then you have to believe in something else maybe God likes hairy feet? even on women! Weird question: "If God made you with hairy legs and feet is it a sin to shave them?"
