Then you believe that God wants us to be puppets or marionettes.. We do the dancing but He pulls the strings???
?Are you refering to this:
"The Christian way is different; harder and easier. Christ says, 'Give me All. I don't want so much of your time and so much of your money and so much of your work: I want YOU. I have not come to torment your natural self, but to kill it. No half-measures are any good. I don't want to cut off a branch here and a branch there, I want to have the whole tree down. I don't want to drill the tooth, or crown it, or stop it, but to have it out. Hand over the whole natural self, all the desires which you think innocent as well as the ones you think wicked - the whole outfit. I will give you a new self instead. In fact, I will give you Myself: my own will shall become yours."
-C. S. LEWIS (1898-1963), English novelist, essayist, and educator, From The Joyful Christian
if i understand c.s. rightly he means that we do not dance, there are no strings, the 'new self' dances, the 'new self' is christ (not a puppet - but one who does nothing of himself, by his own admission; all that he does is is done by the 'father' working in him). of course there is a possiblity that i might misunderstand, even if that option may be remote

as for what i believe? today is one of those days when i am wondering. i meet so few christians... esp by the aforesaid def. anyway my beliefs are and/or should be unimportant to you or anyone the optimal being that all sincerely hold and practice their own.

here is more from c.s. (his understanding seems to agree with the gospel of john; and with
steps to christ by e.g.white.)
"Every Christian is to become a little Christ. The whole purpose of becoming a Christian is simply nothing else." - Lewis, Mere Christianity
