Has anyone else been watching this program ? It seems to be well-balanced and not favoring one philosophy over the other. That is what has struck me as odd since it is on the Church's television channel which is to be an instrument of evangelism. It does give a fair voice to both sides. Of course FOXNews does that and gets accused of being a conservative mouthpiece so I suspect that those leaning toward the naturalist philosophy will claim this program advocates creationism and the creationists will claim it advocates naturalism. My point is that it doesn't have to be fair. It is on our church's network. There would be nothing unethical about it advancing only the church's official view. Perhaps the church wants to distinguish itself from other creationist groups. Similar to how our politics are distinguished from the Religious Right. Adventist creationists do hold some positions different than fundamentalist creationists. - Lucifer sinned before Adam
- Sinless life exists on other planets
- Some stars were created before earth's creation week

For those that are not watching, the show has two students at its center. One is a theistic evolutionist and the other is a traditional creationist. I like that concept however the evolutionist is a biology student and the creationist is a communications student. So it comes off, and rightly so I think, as if the creationist really doesn't know the facts involved with the science. This is a quote from her taken off the website: What you disliked most about the trip: Not knowing enough about science to argue intelligently with Matt, and being at crowded RV parks And worse, in my opinion, they chose a female to be the creationist. The common stereotype is that men are smarter and that only compounds the issue of her not knowing the science. I think it would have been better to have both students be science majors. This week's episode they visited the Dead Seas Scrolls exhibit and it was pretty interesting. It is a good series for teachers to use in the classroom to generate discussion.
