Praying for happy Mondays

The Church of England has produced a special selection of prayers online to help banish Monday morning blues.

They range from the words of Charles Wesley to the thoughts of a curate from Catford, London, on the problems faced by train travellers failing to find a seat or being delayed in a tunnel.

The shortest prayer is for busy people picking up the phone, reports the Daily Telegraph.

A Church spokesman said: "We're showing that God's love isn't just a holiday romance."

Other recent offerings on http://www.cofe.anglican.org include prayers for stressed teenagers and those hit by the foot and mouth outbreak.
