Club Adventist
Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end (hope in your latter end).

12- "Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13- "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

14- "And I will be found of you, saith the Lord; and I will turn away your captivity..." Jeremiah 29:11-14

I LOVE these verses! They give hope as few others!

First of all, God is promising that His thoughts towards us are good, not evil! He wants only to give us hope!

Then He promises that whoever seeks Him earnestly, with all his/her heart, will definitely find Him. This tells us to keep going, to persevere, in our quest to know Him. He says that He WILL be found of us AND that He will turn away our captivity. Our captivity to sin, to sorrow, to fear, will all be banished as we find our Lord.

Let's not cease in, as v.12 admonishes, calling upon God and praying to Him. The verse promises that He will hear us!

How true! We are not only captives to sin, but along with that comes all the results of sin in this world. We DO find ourselves going through times of sorrow -- not always of our own making! There are times when we ask, Where were you, God, when this was happening? And the answer comes back, "I was right there with you all of the time. It is just that you didn't look for Me!"

Most of the time Lately, God, you have been finding ME! I am not always sure I like that. I am trying to learn what good things you are thinking. Most of the time I feel like all there is to think about is evil in me and that my expected end is NOT something I am going to like much. But I would love to feel the difference between running from you to running to you! Maybe if you find me I will let you catch me! Then you can talk some more. I don't know about my heart God....I an not sure I know it very well. It always gets me into trouble when I let it go the least little bit. I did ask you to live there once long ago. You said you would. Do you think I might find you there? Hmmmmm.....that would sure be an awful ugly and dirty place to live. It has so much scary stuff there. I have NO idea how I would know if ALL of my heart was searching for you! I don't much like my heart. If you agreed to go with me, I think You could help me find it. Could you teach me How to use ALL of it?How can I KNOW and FEEL like you really have thoughts of PEACE about me. This is really scary stuff! And you are an AWFUL HOLY GOD!!!
