Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have; for he hath said, 'I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.'" Hebrews 13:5
Paul is here quoting from Deut.31:6. The promise that God made way back at the time of Moses' departure was still good during Paul's life, and it is still valid today.

Though we might have times where we feel forsaken, deserted of God, the promise assures us that this is not so.

Let's be content to live without covetousness, without wishing for the possessions of others. Our heavenly Father is here, watching over all our needs \:\)

God, I know how it feels to be left. Sometimes it is lonely. And sometimes I like being left alone! But you are telling me that I will not want or need ANYTHING else if you never leave me!!! That sounds pretty strange to me. I have NEVER known anyone who could give me EVERYTHING I needed! You must know how to give me space so that I can think and feel! So that I don't feel like your presence is someones hot breath breathing down my neck! I don't want you to stay if that is what you will be doing! How about we set some boundaries here! If you aren't ever going to leave me how about you sit on that side of the room and I will sit on this side. Then we can still talk.

What, You think I will want you to come closer? Maybe....but not at first! I want you to be here so I can talk to you and get to know you but I also want to learn that I can trust you NOT to hound me or pester me about every little thing I do!

I guess that is OK with you....since you say it is YOU that will not leave! This contentment thing though may take some time. Show me how it will make me more content, God. Then maybe I won't WANT you to leave!

Don't worry, JeriAnne. God knows your heart, and He never forces Himself on anyone.
