Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

"They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures." Ps.36:8

and:

"They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied." Ps.37:19

This is BIG! Trusting the Lord for food in the days of famine? How does that work?

I had a fulfillment of these promises back in the days when my family were suffering. Food, clothing and sometimes money would come to our home, enough to keep us going. There were times when we had to visit the food bank and we still did what we needed to do as any family in that situation, but I must say that above that we were certainly blessed \:\)

I really rely on God for this. Not only for food but for all the essentials of living. With the new experience of living, really, week to week I pray alot. Sometimes I even think I'm taking God's providing for granted.

God, I am not sure I understand this in the literal sense of the words. I mean I do believe we have way too much FATNESS in this house! And somehow I tend to associate "Pleasures" with activities that don't do much for my relationship with you! Maybe it is just the changing meaning of the words.

But I do know that my soul hungers for food! Sometimes I wonder if my soul has diabetes like my body does! I can read all the right things. I can listen to all the right things. But still my soul is hungry! It seems there is a famine all around while more and more is said about you and your word! Where can I go Lord for some Spiritual insulin? What can I do to reduce the resistance my spirit has to your food! It isn't enough to eat more God! I want what you ARE giving me to get into my spirit! What kinds of exercises will help me assimilate the precious morsels you have for me? Do you have medication to change my spiritual metabolism? Will the Fatness you promise make it more difficult for me to accept new food?

You have promised that I will NOT be ashamed in the Evil times. How will I even have the energy to live through the evil times without your food energizing my spirit?

God I don't know how you can make this one come true for me in the ways that really matter! But you have promised it Lord. Help me not to tire of letting you work it out in me!

It's so cool how Scripture speaks to people according to their own experiences!

Thank you so much, JeriAnne and Amelia, for your responses! May you both have a blessed day!
