Esau & Jacob were Isaac's children. Isaac and Ishmael were 1/2 brothers. Does that make Ishmael and Esau cousins, or was Ishmael an uncle to Esau?

I would say that Ishmael was Esau's Uncle.

In my version New American Standard, it doesn't say anything about cousins.

However, maybe your text was supposed to have read like this:

Perhaps that comma got put in the wrong place too??
