1. Elder Merlin Kretschmar, president of the Greater New York
Conference before he retired, died on December 5, 2007, of a massive
heart attack. He and his wife Juanita were recently featured on the
front page of the Adventist Review, detailing their ministry "A Key
Encounter," located in Key West, FL. They were also interviewed on the
program REALLY LIVING. Funeral services will be Sabbath, December 15,
2007, as follows:
9:00-10:30 am: Viewing at the Beyer's Funeral Home, mm 100.8 Key Largo
(bayside)
12:30 pm: Commitment with Prayer at Southern Keys Cemetery, mm 10 Big
Coppitt, (turn right continue to 258 Ave. A)
3:00 pm: Memorial Service at the Marathon SDA Church, mm 50 Marathon
(5151 Loggerhead Lane--turn bayside at 52nd Ave. one block then right on
Loggerhead Lane to end of street. Church is on the right.)
2. Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) is paying to air the new
Christmas show, “Christmas at Cadillac Jack’s,” produced by the
NAD. The show will air on TBN several times starting December 18. The
HALLMARK Channel will also be airing the show on December 23. The HOPE
Channel has included the program in its December line-up. Go to the NAD
web site, nadadventist.org, for viewing times throughout the country.
3. This past weekend I was part of the group that met with all of
the Minnesota Conference officers, and pastors, and several laymen from
each church, as plans were discussed about how to reach every person in
Minnesota. Ron Clouzet, and others from the Division Ministerial team
and members of the North American Division Evangelism Institute were
there in the program they call “Church Works.”
