Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

I just think it is interesting to observe that there can be many attacks on an entire class of people and also the most classiest of people ... and there is Nothing done about it ...

BUT .... if anything is said about someone with the first initial of 'J' ... and an entire thread gets closed ... both the good and the bad.

If they can't start by "moderating" the attacks when they happen ... guess what ...

The entire thread gets shut down.

I would rather see some comments get edited than to have them shut down ALL comments made.

Just my two cents worth. I hate to see another entire thread get closed into cyber hell due to a LACK of moderating.

ahhh...my caffeine-fix

If the thread gets closed and locked, but people are still able to read it, *that* should be okay. If the thread does get whacked away where no one can read it, that is wrong (usually). If a thread gets locked, maybe try and start a new thread on the subject, but focused from a different perspective..

Personally, I don't think it's right for a Mod to make a nuisance of him/herself by over-contributing remarks, even if they are right. That's not a Mod's job. If they have so much to say in the topics they are monitoring, perhaps that person is not the right person to be moderating those topics. IMHO

IMHO .... if the thread gets sent to cyber Hell ... then the moderator was not doing a good job early on. Either let it go or do something early before sending it to Hell.

It just makes me mad to see the "good comments" destroyed along with the bad.

A direct "attack" a plain statement as Male Man has done is far easier to deal with than those that are delivered in a sly "loving" way. Whether that attack or comment is directed at a person(member) or others

Could not agree more. A moderator should also warn people offline and not in public.

Ha, I like you. Except to say I have not directly attacked unless attacked first. I don't get it - you people cannot see others attacks on me but seem to see me as attacking only?

I am with you 100% on that. I have preached that here over and over but to deaf ears.

Let me see ... WHO started the thread attacking all women ... our elders ... and all UNmanly men, OUR Church and all pastors. Excluding those pastors who are female because those are covered in the previous condemnations. That doesn't leave many standing from the "butt" of your jokes and condemnation.

To say that you have not come to agitate or solicit a strong response I don't think would be accurate. However whether this is an attention seeking delivery or a honest strong conviction it is still preferable as it is right out front and in your face.
The pastor we had years ago was one of the most fiery fire and brimstone pastor's I have heard to date. Attendence was at a all time high, even with those that grumbled when the sermon pinched their pet "sins". Children's church was not an option at that time but was not needed. He also had the undivided attention of young children. My older boys were 8,9,10 and knew when leaving what the sermon had been about. Not one dozed off during his sermons
My husband was brought into the church by the same type of no nonesense, this is what the bible says.
Straight forward and to the point is not always to be shunned in favor of touchy-feely.
