Hello all.
My questions is how do I discern between God's leading me away from doing something and Satan trying to discourage me from doing God's will? I get an idea to do something which seems like it will bring praise to God and then I feel like I shouldn't be doing it. I want to start my own video production business producing photo montages and tribute videos and videos which specifically praise God. But when I get an idea for a video, I feel this voice saying it won't work or it is too hard, etc. It sounds to me like the enemy's tactics to me. Any thoughts?

HEY LARRYD

are you doing this by your self?????

you might ask another person what they think of
your idea.

it is always good to get a 2nd or even 3rd
opinion.

just thinking here

When God really wants you to do something, you will know. It sounds to me like what happens when we feel an 'obligation' to do something. God, in my experience, only asks us to do what really interests is, what resonates with our souls, what we love to do.

Right now my wife is helping me. She has skills in drawing and tells me when something is visually appealing. She also videotapes when I can't.

Go ahead and produce some and then observe what the affect is on those who watch the videos. Do they feel that your videos strengthen their faith in God or give them a desire to do good?

Also, as one has already suggested, get the opinions of Christians whom you trust after they see your video. The main thing is for you to go to work and do it, asking for God's guidance throughout the whole process.

I have asked one trusted fellow Christian and he said I should go ahead and produce videos as well as try to find a way to support myself doing video work. This friend supplements his income as a part time photographer, so I trust his suggetsions since he has experience in this area. My parents and other church members also feel I should pursue video work. Thanks for all the replies. They have helped me.
