Starting a new thread for the topic of 'can one be an Adventist without being a recent creationist'. I think this thread was kind of borderline for the Origins forum although I understand Shane's reasons for posting it. I do think it makes an unfortunate implicit link between evolution in its various forms (given that we're in an Origins forum) and atheism... and that's not a logically necessary link.
