Pronunciation here is tricky...
Oeuf= euf oeufs (pl)= euh (f is silent)

How about "laid comme un pou?" That was the response of my amie Française when I asked her about Gérard Dépardieu. We had been discussing French actors.
A "pou" is a louse.
