This sculpture was made by Alan Colins but was vandalized twice and eventually had to be replaced by a bronze sculpture.
Sadly, the Good Samaritan's head was broken off two times, and it appears it may have been racially motivated because as you can see, Colins portrayed the Samaritan as a black man.
The original sculpture sat between the university library and the University Medical Center and was intended to represent the mission of the hospital and the university.
