Our dear Denise. She will be past receiving messages from anyone - I pray her remaining time is as peaceful and comfortable as possible, and look forward to meeting her when she is well and whole again.

I just spoke with Chris, Denise's husband. He and Denise's father are keeping watch over Denise. They have discontinued food/water, and she is only on O2 with a nasal cannula and IV for morphine/Ativan for comfort only, as Betty said. She does not respond to anyone. Chris held the phone down to where I could hear Denise's breathing....he had said the MD's told him there was a bit of fluid built up, but one can definitely hear it even without a stethoscope.

He had been told it would only be a couple days, and she's lasted nearly a week. The last thing she said was when she was in ICU, and said, "Help me." Chris *lost it* a couple times talking on the phone to me. He said he wished she would have gone sooner if he'd known she'd have to go through all this. I told him I understood, and that the forum was praying for all of them - for especially for him and the immediate family. He said he would call one of us when the time came.

It brings back memories of my mother. Once the water is discontinued it's not long for the kidneys to break down.

Thank you, Cricket. I literally wept, even though not having known Denise.
Though the hope of the Sons and daughters of God find sweet release in the sleep of death, we that remain still suffer the loss in recognition that it was the enemy of souls that initialized the experience when there was no hope.

I fear no evil, for You are with me;"

I haven't been online for a few days, and this hurt me when I read this.....I miss Denise in the chat room, we had some nice conversations there....We would call each other Twin, since we had the same name. I knew she wasn't doing well, but didn't know how bad her condition has gotten until I read this. We will pray for Chris and the immediate family....and will be looking forward in meeting Denise in the new earth, where we can chat anytime and for long hours without sickness or death.

Cricket, I just watched the video...brought tears to my eyes...that was so beautiful..thanks for posting that.

I just got home to read this and am now very upset. I am a very selfish person. I don't want my friends leave me. Denise and I used to have such wonderful, funny and happy times watching TV together.(we are both on the west coast) At times when I would get home early from work or have and evening in she and I would get into the chat room and tune into the same TV show. Usually it was Dancing With The Stars, Americas Funniest Home Videos or what ever caught her fancy at the time. It was some of the best times I've ever had with Denise. She would also talk to me about her worries for others on CA and what she could do for them. That right there is the blessing God created. Her name is Denise and she was ALWAYS thinking about someone else.

I just wanted to relay a message from another forum....(thethreeam) I told them about Denise, and asked for prayer for her family, and this is what the owner of the forum wanted to relay:

Quote:
Denise I am heartbroken. I will pray as I know all the members here will do. I know when I was told of my mom's death this was so hard. I am so sorry for the family. I also know that God will see them through. Tell them I/we are praying for them.

A lot of people are praying out there for Denise, as well as our church family and our family during worship time.

I have been away too - the raw memories of watching my mother dying and wondering if each day would be her last - and Denise is young and had so much to live for.

As someone else said and we all believe

Even so. come, Lord Jesus.

My prayers too for Chris and the family.

I have been away from the forum for a bit, and this news is quite a shock. The waiting and watching time is just so hard for the family. May God bless and comfort them.

What a shock, what profound sadness, yet what a pleasure it was to chat with Denise over the years. I'm not on CA often, but she always gave me such a cheery Hello that jumping in 'the room' was something I looked forward to.

I'm holding on to the promise of eternal joy that will make the grief of losing a loved one seem insignificant. It's hard to see that, now. But we'll see it nonetheless.

Even so, Come Lord Jesus!

It isn't fair. I am losing two friends in the same year, to the same diseases. I remember talking with her in the chatroom when it was just us two, only months ago.

I am so glad that I had the opportunity to meet Denise in person a couple of months ago. She was just a tiny little thing, there in her hospital bed, but full of ideas and mental energy and positive hopes for her future. I could see then that she likely was near the end of her days, but we didn't talk of that. We talked of her friendships and involvement with Club Adventist. It was family to her, and she made it feel like family to us.

Brother Cubensis,

As much as we speak of death in a bad way, many times it is not. It is the release from pain, and it is a bless rest from our labors. Denise is well on her way, it seems, to being released from her pain. Our Lord knows her and Angels marks where she lay. Remember, Angels mark where we lay, even though time may forget, our angels and our Lord does not.

On arriving home today after spending the afternoon shopping, my wife and I pulled into the mailbox area where a new bulletin was posted, reminding us again how close we live to the enemy of souls. A neighbor whom I had talked to while he was out frisking with his dog just two days ago, had died the same evening.
My greatest regret was never having spoken of Jesus' love for him.
prayer :shark:

That is so neat LynnDel!! I wish I could of met her, but look forward in meeting her when Jesus returns. I was able to speak to her once at the hospital and we spoke for a minute, but she couldn't talk, and asked me to call back at a certain time...and when I did call back, the phone was busy, and couldn't contact her back after that. I remember one time my hubby had some training somewhere, and they had internet at the hotel where the training was....and I of course had my laptop, lol and I went online and Denise and I chatted for like 2 hours....she was always there in the chat room when you wanted to chat....she is a sweetheart! :)
