It takes time to get used to anything. I have been drinking Silk or 8th Continent soymilk for a quite a few years now. Now whenever I look at milk or see it I can't believe that I ever drank the stuff. But like anything else not everybody can eat everything. There are people that can't eat certain vegetable's or fruits, that doesn't make those things no good. And I have to agree that soy is not genetically engineered, its a natural food and in the legume family. And also one of the things that God has given us to eat.

Soy is really a magic bean. We can make plastic, oil, ink, candles, crayons, cleaning products, bio-diesel, paint, milk and many kinds of food from it. Compared to animal-based foods soy comes out on top as it has fiber, protein, vitamin E, Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, helps reduce high blood pressure and may reduce the risk of some cancers.

And also the body handles the calcium better from soy than milk.

Have you ever read a book called, "Back To Eden," by Jethro Klaus? He explains in it how you could grow your own soy beans and make everything with them from ice cream to milk. He has dozens of recipes of ways to use soy beans. It's a very remarkable food source.

Soy is used in the orient, but more like a garnish than a meal.
Cow's milk is the real evil. Whatever problems there may be with soy, cow's milk is 100 fold. Nightingale's post says what many health professionals (not doctors, they're disease professionals) have been saying for decades.
It's strange to me that SDA's call themselves vegetarians, yet consume milk, cheese, and ice cream. Then they wonder why they get breast and prostrate cancers, and asthma.
It's even more strange to me that we've had this wonderful health message for about 150 years, yet I've never heard a doctor tell his/her patient to stop consuming meat or dairy.

There are three kinds of vegetarians:
Lacto-ovo: vegetarian who does not eat beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish or animal flesh of any kind, but is willing to consume cheese, butter, yogurt and eggs. Lacto- means "milk" and ovo- means "egg".
Vegan: vegetarian who does not eat any animal product of any kind which the exception of honey for some. Properly planned vegan diets are healthful and have been found to completely satisfy nutritional needs in every stage of life, including during pregnancy and lactation. However, poorly planned vegan diets can be low in levels of calcium, iodine, vitamin B12 and vitamin D.
Semi-vegetarian: One who excludes some meat (particularly red meat) from the diet while still consuming limited amounts of poultry, fish, and/or seafood.

Its actually very easy to get enough calcium and protein using no dairy or flesh-food of any kind. One cup of nonfat milk contains 300 mg. of calcium and 8 grams of protein. One cup of brocoli contains 178 mg of calcium and 6 grams of protein. One half cup of tofu contains 253 mg of calcium and 10 grams of protein. All kinds of greens are high in calcium. white beans contain 161 mg of calcium/cup and 17 grams of protein. Many kinds of soymilk are fortified with B12. Nutritional yeast which many vegans use in cooking contains B12. There are many cookbooks available that give good ideas for making sure you get all the necessary nutrients. One of my favorites is "The Optimal Diet" The official CHIP cookbook.
