Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

According to one study, door to door work, only brings in 1% of the people who have joined the Church.

Friends bringing friends brings 70% of all new members...

I heard some number like 35% were brought in through media ministries like "It Is Written," "Voice of Prophecy," "3ABN" etc.

My mom joined the church after a colporteur sold her a book - not sure which book. She had never heard of SDA's before. Then it turned out that the older couple living next door to her & dad were *backslidden* Adventists. So they all went to church together, except for my dad. He went camping.

Friendship is the way, but I've heard several people say they raad one book and it did something for them. Quite often that book is the great controversy. So, if you contact 20 people door to door, maybe that 20th person is the one. When the Holy Spirit starts working you can never tell.

Friendships is undoubtedly the most effective means. However most North Americans are afraid of offending their friends by being pushy with their faith and appearing judgmental. The Hispanic culture isn't that way and they are growing faster than we can build churches for them.

20 people is the national average for any type of presentation being 'bought' so it is not surprising that this percentage would apply to our door-to-door ministries.

I know of many people who joined the church due to literature being distributed through various means. Yes, friendship works but how many of us actually share our faith with all but a few very close friends. I suppose that it depends on how many close friends each member possesses.

Everything works sometimes, nothing works all the time.
