... being a recent creationist? There is no exegesis known today that allows us to bend Ex 20:8-11 to the requirements of Darwinism. Since SDAs don't have the freedom to ignore the text of Ex 20:8-11 that other Christian groups have - this puts the SDA evolutionist in a horribly self-conflicted position. I have no idea how they solve it. in Christ, Bob

The Sabbath is a memorial of creation week, that is why the Sabbath is 1 day long...one day in seven not hundreds or millions of years long as a memorial of the many years of evolution.
I think on some things, we just have to trust that God is wiser than all our scientists and that even if we can't understand the "complexity" or "probability" of creation, non-the-less God said he created the world in seven days and the 7th day was the culmination of that creation. If "creation" took millions of years, then the Sabbath as 'day of worship' as "one day in even" as specifically "saturday" looses it's meaning and relevance.
Just my 2 cents.
(And I genuinly like Bravus and others who doubtless won't agree with me.)

non-the-less God said he created the world in seven days and the 7th day was the culmination of that creation. Yes, Taylor, I agree. There is no way in which a person can read Genesis chapter 1, and believe anything other than what it says -- God created the world and all that is in it in six days, and rested on the seventh. Each day is stated "and the evening and the morning was the ...1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. day -- what can be clearer than that! And He rested on the seventh day, and proclaimed it an everlasting memorial of creation. And we still have the seven-day week (even though they try to tell me it starts on Monday (Rubbish!!) The old devil will try anything to point people away from the seventh-day Sabbath! Jesus was the Creator. Surely He knew how long it took to complete the creation! When the children of Israel stopped at Mt Sinai, manna was given to them -- with a double amount on the 6th day, and none on the seventh day -- because it was the Sabbath! If we are to believe that God was telling fibs about the time of creation -- then we may as well throw the Bible away! And that is something I won't do. Beryl
