"Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass." Psalm 37:7
You know how there are times when someone is being mean to you, it seems like this person seems to have everything going well in his/her life?
Doesn't that bug you? Especially when you KNOW that the person is dishonest or abusive or somehow otherwise wicked?
It's so tempting to wonder why THAT life seems to be prospering while you are suffering, how unfair it is. And with those thoughts come feelings of anger and vengeance, dreaming up scenarios where the other one falls or loses the job or dies. Sometimes we just can't help it- it's part of our human nature.
God here tells us not to worry about the other person. Rest in the Lord and don't fret! Why? Because life isn't over until it's over. The Lord knows- and He will take care of it.
He wants us to REST in Him.
