1. Ron Lindsey, treasurer of the Hawaii Conference, has been struggling with cancer. He has chosen to go on disability as of October 1, 2008.
2. James Lewis, president of the Allegheny West Conference, is moving to Oakwood University to direct the Office of Regional Conference Ministry.
3. Winnipeg, Manitoba, a city of 700,000 people had only four churches. A goal was set to have 20 new congregations by the year 2020. Five new churches have been started in the past four years.
4. Between 300,000 and 400,000 Sikhs live in British Columbia, and many also live in the United States. In British Columbia a new Adventist church has been started by Adventists who have a Sikh background. The weekly worship service is the Punjab language.
