Pharoah brought glory to God and it wasn't very good for him.

The purpose of God in raising Pharaoh up, or causing him to stand, was that He might show to him , and in him, His power, and that His name might be declared throughout all the earth. This purpose was accomplished in the destruction of Pharaoh because of his own stubborn resistance. But you and I both know that it would have been accomplished just as well, and probably better if Pharaoh had listened to the word of God. (Certainly, it would have been better for Pharaoh)

Pharaoh saw God's power, but would not believe. If he had believed, he would have been saved, because the power of God is salvation to everyone that believeth (Romans 1:16). A wonderful and honorable position was offered to Pharaoh, but he knew not the day of his visitation. It involved humiliation, and he rejected it, just as many do today. But only by exercising their God- given, and God-protected, power of choice in the camp of tares, does one become one. The master sowed good seed in the field, remember?

As a consequence, Pharaoh lost everything; while Moses, who might have had the same throne, chose to suffer affliction with the people of God. The mercies of God rejected turn into curses. Hosea 14:19. As Nebuchadnezzar will someday affirm, it would have been better for the proud Pharaoh to yield to the design of God, instead of having that design worked out in spite of him. Nebuchadnezzar will one day be in the kingdom. Dan 4:37 Pharaoh will not.

Here's something that goes right along with what you said:

In about 1976, the body of the Pharaoh who many historians believe was the Pharaoh of the Exodus (1445 BC) was transported to a museum in Britain, and due to a technical question regarding the law, his mummified body was labeled "Dead Fish."

So while Moses has been enjoying life with God in heaven for the last nearly 3,000 years, the mummified body of the Pharaoh has been in a coffin all this time and was sent to England in a box labelled as "Dead Fish."

Moses made a very wise choice to side with God, but it sure didn't look like it for a while. Someday the wisdom of the choice will be even more plain for the world to see.
