3ABN has been working on a couple of new channels. One is to be an urban channel and another a children's channel. Does anyone have any news on these? Do the need FCC approval or are they waiting on something else?

To continue developing these channels, we're waiting on two things: Content and funds.


3ABN Children's channel:
We have enough "episodes" to run a childrens channel 24/7 right now; if the viewers would be happy with only 6 or 7 different series of programs repeating over and over.
Anyone who has produced television programs knows that it's very expensive and time consuming to make childrens programming, and it will simply take a while to develop quite a lot of different programs to make watching an all childrens channel pleasurable. Of course we're always willing to consider children's programming from other studios, and we've been looking at some lately, but most of it is unsuitable for various reasons.


3ABN Urban Channel
Here the issue is mostly funding, but amount of content is also a factor. There's more content available to successfully launch this channel, (probably to be called World of Praise Network), but funding is not available to really get it off the ground. We're doing some fundraising with the current World of Praise program on 3ABN, but response has been slow.
