Club Adventist
Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

I have seen them on youtube since and played on the radio as well as in stores. I still love it. It was one of the hardest things to do was to throw them in the trash. My albums,CD's, VHS,collectables, ect.

I grew up with an indifferent, yet angry mother and a raging rabid father. When my little sis was born for the first time I saw my mom love something. And I remember believing in my deep core that If only I was a girl my mom would love me too.

I went through a similar experience. My mother wasn't angry and my father was a good Christian man, but I know the other thing you are saying here. It can happen even when parents are wonderful Christians. They can do those things without even being aware of it. Parents often treat their boys less lovingly than they do their girls, and it can be harmful in ways they don't realize. Most boys do fine when this happens, but for whatever reason, some boys do not do so well under those conditions. It can subtly change the way they think of themselves, or bring out things that before were hidden.

Quote:
I identified with girls and not boys.

I'm not sure why but I began to do the same when I was about in the 9th grade. I became aware that I was different from other boys in some fundamental ways, and I knew that my thinking and feelings seemed to be more like the girls'. I didn't know what it was all about or why it was happening.

Quote:
All the music that touched me and my faves growing up would mostly be lady singers. So when Abba came out-then Pat Benatar -
then Madonna I would try to sing like them be like them and so on.
Abba is an escape for me. And it got to the point in my christian walk that I had to throw them out or be consumed with them.
I still need prayer regarding this. Its not easy to sever connections with things that make me escape myself but God wants me to escape to HIM alone!

I felt it was right to throw out a lot of pro-gay books as well as some music, and then later I bought some of those again. After a long period of time, I got rid of them again, and never wanted to get them again. This can be a slow change, Parade. Music has a way of triggering happy memories, but those memories can also bring back feelings and desires that are spiritually harmful to us. It takes healing through lots of prayer, Bible study, and close, strong Christian friendship and support.

That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.
