From the Desk of Don C. Schneider. . . .

Feel free to share this information.

1. A few weeks ago I preached for the opening week-end of the Alberta Camp Meeting. When I came in the gate, I was handed the same packet of material that all people entering received. It was the letter from Elder Bill Olsen telling about conference plans for the year of evangelism. Each conference church will be having 2 public meetings during the year. He stressed the goal of $100,000 for the evangelism offering. By the close of camp meeting, more than double the goal was given for evangelism.

2. Elder Harry Johnson, 92, former associate treasurer of the General Conference, passed away. His son, Del, is the director of the churches retirement plan. There will be a memorial service on August 23, 2008, at the Westminster Maryland Church.

Deaths include:

The mother of Ray Hartwell (president of Pennsylvania Conference)

Mrs. Lorine Calhoun-Wright, the mother of Billy Wright (president of Southwest Region Conference)

Mrs. Annie Thompson, the mother of Teenie Finley (Mrs. Mark Finley)

Elder Max Torkelson has turned down a call to be the president of the Lake Union Conference.

Elder Ramon Chow, treasurer of the Chesapeake Conference, has accepted a call to become the secretary-treasurer of the ASI organization.

Randy Reynolds has accepted a call to become the treasurer of the Northern New England Conference.

During the past few months more than a half million people have viewed the programs on the Adventist channel/Biggie TVl.

My guest on REALLY LIVING tonight, Sabbath, Monday, and Thursday will be Bob and Sherry Lemon. Bob is the treasurer of the General Conference.

The Sabbath offering at the ASI Convention was more than 8 million dollars. One of the major projects for the offering will be a church, developed by Garwin McNeilus, that will cost $3,000 and can be built in only one day.

Elder Luka Daniel, president of the West Africa Division, has announced that he will retire at the end of the year.

Frederick Russell, pastor of the Miracle Temple Adventist Church in Baltimore, has been elected president of the Allegheny West Conference.

Dave Weigley, president of the Columbia Union Conference, preached at the New Jersey Camp Meeting and made a call for baptism. 35 people came forward indicating a desire to be baptized

Jeremiah 9:23 This is what the LORD says:
"Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches,
but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me,
that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD .
