Club Adventist
Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

Christ's death, which is our death, is what the blood of Christ represents. That took care of the guilt and punishment for sin. However, it didn't answer who is responsible.

Good answer. Job's sufferings represented and foreshadowed the sufferings of Christ. The whole situation of Job was a messianic prophecy, just like when Abraham was told to sacrifice Isaac. Now would you say that God wanted to teach Isaac a lesson because of some sin in Isaac's life? Isaac represented Christ. Abraham represented the Father.

It may also be relevant to note that both Abraham and Job where rich men who where willing to give up everything at God's behest, like the cargo has to be taken off the camel and he has to get on his knees to enter through the eye of the needle.

Yes. Mel is a good established and welcome part of our Forum Family.

The only issue I have with him is that he doesn't post often enough and long enough.

I know you have been around but I hadn't noticed your posts on the theology threads very often. Of course I do recall very well your posts on Daniel and Revelation thread.

By saying I hope you visit often, I simply mean I hope we hear more from you.

I don't buy this statement....

The purpose was
to point to Christ who "taketh away the sins of the world"
The anti-typical "day of atonement" was the day that Christ made the supreme sactifice on the cross for you and me.

It might interest you to know that the next Quarterly adult Sabbath School lessons will cover this very topic-- "Atonement and the Cross of Christ," It will continue from Oct. through December. Should be good.
