Club Adventist
Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

I am putting this is a separate thread so as not to have it deleted:

I want to thank the moderator who posted this:

I am speaking now as the moderator, Mr. Humble.

I think this is the first time I have witnessed this moderator specify that he was now posting as a moderator. I appreciate him doing so and hope to see this happening in the future.

Thanks John317.

Some other forums have the moderator type in red and preface remarks with "Speaking with moderator hat on" if
they are making an official comment.

Not a bad idea.

Agreed. Moderators should don their "mod hats" when making official statements.

This would also permit moderators to participate in the general discussion in their forums on the same basis as everyone else.

Exactly, because at least for me, the whole purpose of being on the Forum is to be able to discuss things, especially on those threads I have a real interest in.

If you check that particular thread, you will see that I had to tell Humble I was speaking as the moderator because (as I recall) I had already told him to stop telling an Adventist poster (me) to cease teaching the Sabbath.

People can argue against the Sabbath but no one has a right on the Forum to tell people to stop teaching the Sabbath. We let people teach about Sunday, so everyone has a right to teach what they want regarding those issues, as long as they don't call names and make personal attacks.

By the way, if someone asks anyone a question which they don't want to answer, all they have to do is ignore it or say they don't want to answer-- but it is never necessary to call people names, etc. This is particularly true if the question is on topic and is perfectly appropriate considering the subject under discussion.
