I just found this forum when I was googling Adventist Moslem Relation. I read topic about Al-Hanif which posted few years back.

I used to be a faithful, even fundamentalist moslem, then through long exhausting spiritual journey, Jesus found me. I got baptized in Sept 2006.

I realized the TRUTH (about Sabbath and Jesus) should not be exclusively claimed by SDA, it supposed to be universal. I have this hope of sharing this TRUTH to the moslem also. Of course this is not an easy task to do since they have considered Christianity as infidels.

At first time, I have this hope over Al-Hanif movement, but then I done small observations and found out the 'mistake' about Al-Hanif.

The mistake is that this movement was founded by Christian! Not the moslem.

I then decided to 'try' forming another method, but by admitting myself as a moslem first. My other adventist colleagues consider my method as an infiltrant.

Well, i'm looking for second, third, or more opinions about how to share this TRUTH... Hope anyone could give respond over this topic

I'm interested in Islam. I'm an SDA and have close friends from Afghanistan who are Moslem. We've been very good friends for over 20 years.

I have read the Qu'ran several times. It's very interesting.

I would like to know if you accept the New Testament or whether you only accept the Qu'ran.

Yes I accept the New Testament, the whole Bible actually.

Since I'm still new with this Books, I still have a lot to learn.

But I really want to share the Truth about Jesus and Sabbath to moslems, and I have thought of my own method, but some people don't seem agree with this method of mine.

I'd love to hear something about your method of sharing the gospel and the Sabbath with your Muslim friends or family.

One reason I want to know is because I'd like to be able to talk to our friends about the same things. I understand that the Koran actually gives them "permission" to go to Christians and ask what the Bible teaches about the way of salvation.

What are your thoughts about this and how do you think it's good to approach them about Christ and the Sabbath?

Actually some verses in Quran supports that Christ followers would be saved at end of times.

The term HAWARIYYIN in Quran refers to 12 disciples of Jesus Christ, and they are considered as Muslim.

Muslim is translated as people who surrendered themselves to the will of God, so actually Christians based on this understanding are also Muslim, because we surrender under God's will and law (the 10 commandments).

And also when Quran talks about TRINITY, actually it refers to the Gods of Pagan Arab (Latta, Uzza, and Mana), the three daughters of Hubal (the Moon God), not to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Our Muslim friends are actually being decepted all this time because they lack of efforts to 'criticize' their faith (some ulama consider that as SIN), which leads them to Blind Trust, made them easily manipulated and provoked.

Since there are lots of sects in Islam, my method is I'm trying to form a new 'movement' in Islam, to reform their way of thinking, and slowly lead them to the understanding that Sabbath is the God's Holy day and Jesus is the ONLY way to salvation.

What do you think about it?

I don't know that much about the Moslem culture, but it seems to me that you have set yourself a monumental task. But Christianity grew from such a small following to the great numbers that it is today, that I think *any* efforts to reach this heretofore unreachable population is worth the effort. More power to you!!! Just my opinion.....

Well the reason my fellow adventists told me to reconsider that method is because one of the unique characteristic of being Christian which is being a powerful witness of Jesus would get blur if I admit myself as a moslem first instead of exposing myself from the first time as a Christian.

What do you think?

If you tell people you are Muslim and then later reveal that you are a believer in the New Testament, are Muslims apt to be more persuaded by you or less persuaded by you?

Were you Shi'it or Sunni Muslim?

Are one or the other of these more sympathetic or understanding towards the New Testament?

Muslims are a hard group to reach as I guess you well know. But I would think that our focus on unclean meats, not partaking of alcohol or tobacco, observance of the Sabbath as a holy day -- not a holy hour and the fact that SDAs are not zionist or dispensationalist when it comes to our views of Israel and the middle east and end-times (though we do pray for peace and salvation for all people in that area, believing God loves both Jews and Arabs) - could be a good bridge for Muslims.

SDA's also take a strong stand against the errors of the Christian church during the dark ages. Possibly another bridge for muslims. We also have a prophet in modern times in the SDA church -- and that too may be of interest to them.

What do you see as the most interesting thing about Christianity for a Muslim? What would they be most attracted to?
