Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

No wonder JimBob is angry, he's been alive for over 300 years!
Sorry, had to give my 2 cents worth.

Jim Bob, if you don't like the cell phones, tell someone to put it in the bulletin or tell the pastor, doesn't that make sense?
Also, just don't go there...I don't go to restaurants I don't like and I don't hang around people I dont' like.
How about another SDA church? There's one right down the street from me, but they're lifeless...so I drive 15 minutes to go to a better one.

will be happy to collect 2 cents..

We drive 17 and the one that is 8 is/was worse.

I lead a sabbath school class and my son likes to hear the pastor..He is a nice interesting guy...even though he does NFDMTTS. The people are ok..most probably nicer than me.

I'm surprised to hear that you lead a SS class. You just sound so bored by it all. I guess since it is fairly new to me(going to church) I am interested in it.
I think churches could work at being friendlier to visitors.
I went to a SDA church that handed out small gifts to the visitors and really welcomed them. That's how it should be.
The church members really need to reach out and keep in touch with visitors. The leader of my Bible study does just that, and she keeps me wanting to come back.
Being nice to people and really caring does help!

I came here to find people that might like it.

Kim,
One very important reason that has kept me in the Adventist church for approximately 45 decades,
I mean 4.5 decades and still loving it, as well as loving all those in the body of Christ who are not yet Seventh Day Adventists, is a personal recognition that the Holy Spirit has taken responsibility for my eternal safety (by invitation) as opposed to the many who might find it debatable that I belong here.

There have been many small incidences, as well as those more notable, that have made it more clear than was initially true when first making the committment to the espoused remnant church, that continue to verify the choice was the right one. This in spite of some evidence to the contrary. But then the Lord of glory was murdered in His own church by those who claimed to be searching for the Messiah. Can His true disciples expect any different at certain times, at least by some of the religious of today,
not to mention the irreligious?

"It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household"
Matt 10:25

Lift Jesus up!!

Good post..My pastor buddy does that too..gives out pens and small popular religious books.

The sabbath school class is nowhere a boring one..when the SS superintendent manhandled the schedule to cut out 30 minutes of the class time...protests came in right away...

We are working on overturning that now.
I had 2 members say they are not coming back to church because of the schedule change..
what is boring is the worship service...except for the sermon..yet that is lacking in scripture exposure and teaching...I find that in almost all places in SDA churches..
