Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

I'm thinking not 6,000,000,000 - 144,000

Assume there are a billion Christians who have claimed His sacrifice explicitly, and maybe another 2 billion otehrs who have done so implicitly... and then add in God's mercy and love... and raise to the power of infinity... and recognise that I'm delighted it's not my job to judge... Malfunction, malfunction, does not compute!!!

God will be horrified if it's ONE. Will we?

Thanks for the replies Bravus

I mentioned a few days ago about being on the air...

Early this year the talk show host mentioned that he didn't love perfectly...
that is a given.. usually for anyone...
yet that begs the question....to the host....and to any reader

If everyone was allowed into heaven that loved at least at your level...would it be still heaven???

This thread is a spin off of another post I did on another forum..
The Tsunami death toll supposedly has reached 226,000

That means 5.999774 BILLION are still alive..minus a few thousand each hour...from other causes.
I will research.

Amen, Bravus. Maybe that's why He hasn't come back yet?

Yet the 150,000 Christians who are martyred every year almost never make the news.

"When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own."
Christ's Object Lessons 69

Fairly well known SOP quote..but much despised..because of the controversial word in bold.

Religion is where one is deceived into finding a persuasion where they can cloak their hatred for God or Jesus..even the "Christian" persuasions.

The tale of Snow White brings this out...those who kill Snow White extend past the Pharisee crowd.

This week's SS lesson teacher's quarterly hints at this on page 49
http://www.absg.adventist.org/TeachersQuarterlies/TE2005/TE%201%20Q%202005/ETQ10504.pdf

Subtle are the methods that hint at hatred for Jesus.
NFDMTTS is one
Religious shallow cliches
Doctrinal corruption and or wrong emphasis

Thanks. I figured it was time for something else -- I'd had the apoptosis one up a bit too long and I'm not feeling apoptosic right now, so I went on the web and found a picture of Nicodemus meeting up with Jesus -- since that is where I took the nickname "Nicodema" from (feminized version of nicodemus).

I'm in a very simple and childlike mode right now and sometimes the best thoughts come from that frame of mind, you know? Like maybe that's why Jesus said to receive the Kingdom like a little child ... anyway ... what is coming to my mind right now is this thought: simply that the reason it is despised is because people believe that is something we have to achieve ourselves.

Once that lie is broken and we realize this is God's work from start to finish, not ours, there will be nothing left to despise. We will just rejoice and say, "Bring it on, Lord!" I really think the "despising" gets in there because we keep forgetting this simple fact: it's 100% His work to do that. We start thinking WE have to do it FOR Him, and when we find we can't, we get mad at God. But He never said -- and Ellen never wrote -- "when WE perfectly reproduce the character of Christ in ourselves..." It is, instead, as you quoted above.

Hmmm, think I've just given myself something to ponder here ... the light just went on upstairs ...
