** ADVENTIST PREACHING DVD, Volume 9, features Karl Haffner and a six-part series, "Cures for the Common Christian." The series was taped at Southern Adventist University's Student Week of Prayer. The sermons are appropriate for many venues, such as youth ministries, worship services, prayer meetings, and a church lending library.

** HEALTH MINISTRIES SABBATH AND OPERATION 30,000 - So far, 72,000 Adventist Health Study-2 (AHS-2) surveys have been returned, but another 30,000 are needed to reach the goal of making this a successful and viable study of more than 100,000 completed surveys. AHS-2 is requesting that all churches join in "Operation 30,000 on Health Ministries Sabbath, February 19, or on another Sabbath in February or March. Churches will receive further information, a new video, and new brochures.
Contact: 800-247-1699 for more information.
** ADVENTIST SINGLE ADULT MINISTRIES (ASAM) CONFERENCE, February 21-24 - Attend the country's largest training event for Single Adult Ministry (SAM) leaders at the interdenominational SAM Convention, February 21-23. It will be followed by the 2nd Annual ASAM Leadership Training Conference, February 24. Both will be held in Orlando, Florida. Featured speakers are Elder José Rojas, NAD Director of the Office of Young Adult Ministries; and Richard Stenbakken, newly appointed NAD ASAM Coordinator.
Contact: To receive a substantial discount, you must register for the SAM Convention through Lorraine Thomas, Adventist Coordinator at
LthomasASAM@aol.com or call 951-929-4178. Register for ASAM at 800-732-7587 through February 17.
** YOUNG ADULT MINISTRIES - Even though the young adult and singles population has become a larger and more significant segment of the population, only one congregation in five has an ongoing program of young adult ministries or single adult ministries, according to surveys. There is no statistically significant difference in survey results between Adventist congregations and other faith groups except in occasional or seasonal events, according to the FACT Survey and information in the January 26 issue of "Creative Pastor," electronic newsletter for pastors available from the Center for Creative Ministries. However, Adventist churches are more likely to have an annual event such as "Singles Sabbath" or other events during the year.

www.creativeministry.org/research/ and click on "New Fact Information" to see information from past issues of "Creative Pastor."
