Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

I like the quotes I've seen in here. Like the previous one,Kelly. How true,right??--Just let me be; I can take care of myself pretty much ("Don't call me;I'll call you...",right? Ah, "what the world needs now is Jesus, just a glimpse of Him ." And how. "IF we will die to self,if we will enlarge our idea of what Christ can be to us and what we can be to Him,if we will unite with one another in the bonds of Christian fellowship,God will work through us with mighty power. Then we shall be sanctified through the truth. We shall indeed be chosen by God and controlled by His Spirit. Every day will be precious to us, because we shall see in it an opportunity to use our entrusted gifts for the blessing of others."

My husband and I are reading Desire of Ages again. We have read it through several times and each time marvel at the wonderful love of our heavenly Father and Jesus our Lord. Here is a quote we read this morning that thrilled our hearts:

"Christ was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves. He was condemned for our sins, in which He had no share, that we might be justified by His righteousness, in which we had no share. He suffered the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which was His. 'With His stripes we are healed.' " --p. 25.

Thank you Jesus!!!!

Desire of Ages, p. 176:

"The light shining from the cross reveals the love of God. His love is drawing us to Himself. If we do not resist this drawing, we shall be led to the foot of the cross in repentence for the sins that have crucified the Saviour. Then the Spirit of God through faith produces a new life in the soul. The thoughts and desires are brought into obedience to the will of Christ. The heart, the mind, are created anew in the image of Him who works in us to subdue all things to Himself. Then the law of God is written in the mind and heart, and we can say with Christ, 'I delight to do Thy will, O my God.' Ps.40.8."

While we're threading our way through this section thinking about Jesus, how about a(nother) poem of mine? I wish the lines lined up,but hopefully you'll get the jist/ flow of it,anyway Look at-behold the Man! -and live! Simple solution-plan To get a life-have it more abundantly As well as live eternally! Yes,beholding that Man-the Man Jesus Christ That showed me the way-and paid the way-the price By giving His life in place of mine Although I couldn't care less, sinning many a time Even though I broke His law, defiantely Choosing not to be His friend, what did He Do? Came down from heaven where He was loved and understood To this planet of just the opposite-and went about doing good?! On a mission-had a plan -A desire to save you and me-fallen man That we might really live-have something more -A peace and happiness now, and then Live with Him whom we've beheld and adored

I took a nosedive this week and for the first time since I was 16, a longggg time ago, I began to doubt God. I was searching for a reason to exist. Thanks for the posts on how much value we are to Christ and what we can become by dying to self. With His stripes we are truely healed. I can go on and face tomorrow ...
