I was saddened to hear of your experience. Perhaps a vist to the pastor by you, to explain your feelings would help. If the church you choose does not have a committee to welcome new people, ect, maybe this is your answer from God for what you should do? Answers come in the strangest ways sometimes.

Hi Ana, In everything you do, keep focused on Jesus. When you wake up in the morning, acknowledge Him. Throughout your day, acknowledge Him. When you lay in bed at night, before you drift off into sleep, acknowledge Him and talk to Him. quote: Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Peter was able to walk on water only as long as his focus was on Jesus. The moment Peter turned away from Jesus and focused his eyes on the roaring waves, he began to sink.
The roaring waves may include:- rejection
- being ignored by others
- being looked down on by others
- condescending (I'm better then you)
- unemployment
- the list is endless...
When the roaring waves begin to lap at your feet, then focus on Jesus who can keep you from sinking. If Jesus can lift Peter up out of the water 2000 years ago, then He can lift you and I up today. Focus on Jesus, always, and in everything you do. He is alive and He cares for you, even for the specific needs which you have not written in this thread.
Bless you as you look to the Author and the Finisher of your faith. quote: Hebrews 12:2a Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.
Stay focused on Him and He will meet all your needs. His strength will be made perfect in your weakness. Trust Him in this.

Dear wings4ana: I feel your lonliness, as I feel the same way. I see you are a surgical scheduler and was impressed. Is that at a hospital? I know the feeling of a church not being very friendly, the members too involved in their own little worlds and clicks, and gossips circles. You would think it would be different in the SDA church. I would suppose that you are a smart, alert lady, as judging by your occupation. That makes it even more difficult. also, as regards the post above where you should solve the problem by becoming active, that is a great idea if it suits your personality and if you are not already exhausted by your job. Not everyone has the gifts of leadership, assertiveness, and outgoing-personality. I'm refering to myself, too. I've been to college, on the dean's list all the way. I'm a pro artist and have 3 web sites. But I'm not a socializer and dont want to lead anything, period. Aalso, I'm too tired from daily hassle and work, to just switch jobs every week end. It's too bad life has become that way, but Satan has seen to it to make life difficult. Especially for women: most men cant even conceive it, but every woman who works outside the home has two full time jobs. Personally, having my web sites and jointing forums with subjects I relate to, has helped my lonliness and need to contribute. I still long for person-to-person closeness of a home church, but that takes years of going to the same church. Until then, I take the edge off in the ways I've described.

I am glad that you have chosen to fellowship here on ClubAdventist. We have many members who do not attend church for whatever reason and they find a social outlet here.
Some of our members do meet each other, as Child of Christ, Jerry and DGVeggie did the other weekend.
I hope you are able to find some close friendships among our family. Bless you!

Ana,
Maybe take some initiative in the church that you prefer. Make an appointment with the pastor or his secretary and just volunteer for some job. There are never enough volunteers!! I found that was the easiest way to get to know people...
And, again, I am so glad that you have joined us here. Please feel free to make yourself at home!
God bless-
