Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.

Earlier today, Ed White wrote a note on the 3ABN forum about how he liked women with long hair (Bible reasons) and thought Mrs. Gray could not be on that station because they apparently had a bias against women with long hair.

Ed's well-reasoned statements were deleted, so Mrs. Gray has moved her answer here for Ed's edification.

Dear person,

Mrs. Gray does not wish to let the scissors touch her tresses. As you know, despite Mrs. Gray's requests, she was not given opportunity to provide the keynote address for the General Conference Session, and if she could not speak at that event, likely she would not be welcomed to speak on 3ABN.

To work at 3ABN, Mrs. Gray would also need to acquire a library of "Adventist" scarves such as the women on 3ABN frequently wear along with a pair of glasses. She would also have apply makeup to tone down her naturally radiant skin so as not to appear to be wearing any.

It is interesting that Mrs. Gray is accused now of working for 3ABN when she previously wrote a long dissertation on how bad Linda Shelton had been treated, etc. After it went on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, Mrs. Gray decided to ask the talkers to adopt a more respectful approach and was thus accused of being everything from a 3ABN shill to an employee. Mrs. Gray supposes that people think that she sounds too smart to just be another person on the forum. People think she's smart, but Mrs. Gray isn't smart. People just think that and have made her some kind of a "special case." If Mrs. Gray, often thought of as a "fictional character" is considered to be too informed, etc., then in a relative analysis, this does not bode too highly for some others.

This could not be further from the truth, since Mrs. Gray has never watched a complete program on 3ABN and only flips through that station on her way to the next SpongeBob SquarePants episode. Mrs. Gray got very uncomfortable with the tone the conversations were taking - she has no personal stake in the outcome whatsoever .

Hopefully this new level of moderation will help focus the subject on what needs to be addressed and will cut out some of the "gossip" about all the details of their private lives to which only their families and God are justifiably privy.

Again, with regard to hair length, Mrs. Gray has no particular burden in either direction. Her hair is quite long and she wraps it up in a ball. (It gives her a very severe appearance while preserving the Biblical mandate.)

Perhaps you could investigate whether or not there is a conspiracy to remove Linda from 3ABN because her strong witness through her lengthy hair was a silent rebuke to the more worldly women. But just one caveat as you do your research, Mrs. Gray once saw a bald woman at church and just as she was about to rebuke the woman, she learned that the woman had just gone through chemotherapy and her hair had fallen out as a result. A few weeks later the woman passed away, and Mrs. Gray was forever thankful that she had not said anything to the woman about this. The lesson is that if you are going to confront a woman about her short hair, you should first find out whether or not she has cancer.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gray

Mrs. Gray words. “Ed's well-reasoned statements were deleted, so Mrs. Gray has moved her answer here for Ed's edification.”
======================
I haven't checked lately but the last time I looked in my edification folder that department was in perfect health, not needing a jump start, but thanks for your concern. But it did remind me of a letter supposedly from St. Peter in heaven to the king of Spain, even calling this King by his given name asking him to help Rome fight a battle against the Muslims which had all of Rome’s strongholds in Europe conquered, and Rome’s armies was backed into Italy. This letter on the bests of paper and in letters of gold was a forgery of course with St. Peters signature. The king was honored, saying “Why I didn’t even know that St. Peter knew my name, of course I will send my armies immediately to help.” I also was honored [as this king was] to have Mrs. Gray [with all her pressing duties] come to my corner of the ring and administer a healing balm.

I have been toying with the idea of shaving my head to raise money for children with cancer...and wearing selections from my Muslim neighbor's headscarf collection until the hair grows back.

Then, if someone confronts me in church and accuses me of converting to Islam, I can quote 1 Corinthians 11:5,6.
