1. Dr. Andrea Luxton, associate director of the General Conference
Education Department, has been elected president of Canadian University
College. She has previously been the academic dean of Canadian
University College. She will begin her new position in July 2006 when
Reo Ganson retires.

2. As the satellite program "The Appearing" came to a close, a
lady told Marti and me that she would see us Sabbath at the Sligo
Church. She came in and was eager to hug both of us. Kermit Netteburg,
who is an evangelistic pastor, was quick to invite her to his home for
lunch to help her get acquainted with other Sligo people.

3. Terry Johnson, one of the Sligo pastors, has helped to start
"The New Community Fellowship," a new group that meets at 6:00
p.m. in the Sligo Church. 400 people attend. 200 are currently not
members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

4. Adventist Risk Management reports that 120 locations may have
suffered damage from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Estimated costs of
damages will not be known for several weeks. During the 2004 hurricane
season, the insurance company paid out $13.5 million to 400 locations to
assist in the recovery after the storms.

5. Last Sabbath, at Andrews University Alumni Weekend, Dwight
Nelson made a call for students to break their studies and give a year
of service as a student missionary. More than 60 students responded as
faculty members pledged to help the students in their decision.

6. In the recently published "U.S. News and World Report,"
Andres University ranked 6th for percentage of international students on
campus, with 12% of the student population coming to Andrews from all
over the world, and as the 15th most diverse campus of any national
(U.S.) university, public or private.
