* ADVENTISTS AND LONGEVITY IN THE NEWS AGAIN - Terry Butler,
Co-investigator of the Adventist Health Study-2, reports that CNN has
been at Loma Linda University for two days this week following up on
National Geographic's story about Adventists and longevity. They've
been interviewing some of the older people there. The report will be
shown on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360o", Wednesday, November 16, at
10 pm ET.
* PLEASE PROMOTE PARTICIPATION IN ADVENTIST HEALTH STUDY 2. This health
study will be one of the most important of this century and will have
benefit to billions around the world. Adventists would not have become
known for health and longevity if not for the first Adventist Health
Study in 1976. ALL Adventists 30 years and older are needed to join
regardless of diet or health status. It is essential to have the
diversity of our members included. This study does NOT compare
Adventists with the general population. The purpose is to understand
what factors increase or decrease the risk of disease and quality of
life. Factors such as: various foods, soy, activity, sunlight, heredity,
Sabbath, spirituality etc will be evaluated.

Triumph" full color brochures by Mark Finley, are available, FREE,
while they last. They were used as part of the Adventist response to the
9/11 attacks on the twin towers in New York City. They are still timely,
and can be used to discuss topics such as God's presence when people
suffer, the controversy between good and evil, and our hope for the
future.
