Some questions we might ask ourselves (and go ahead and post your answers here) as we study this week's lesson: 1. What are some characteristics of humanity in general should the Christian get rid of? 2. How does a Christian go about getting rid of those undesirable characteristics?

It seems to me that resentment means you are jealous in some way of someone else. Coveting might be another word for it. You want what is denied to you instead of letting God take care of it.
Just a thought.

I think resentment can, but doesn't necessarily mean, jealousy. I was thinking more along the lines of hurtful things that other people do and say. Or people breaking their promises. It's very easy to say that we should let God take care of it, but - at least for me - *that* is very hard to do. *How* does one do that? Sometimes the way I hear people talk about giving problems to God, it sounds like they're doing some sort of mental gymnastics to tell themselves everything is okay .... I'm not sure how that works. I think giving issues to God takes lots more faith than what I've got yet. :::big sigh:::

I don't think it means that you forget the problem exists - you don't let the problem take control of your life. By looking to Christ and the problems He endured, you can put the issue into proper prospective and go on with a positive attitude. You don't ignore the problem but change the way you handle it and look at it.
Yes, it is hard to do - the devil sees that I struggle hard with this one.
