Hi Aldona. Judith Durham has arguably the purest female vocal voice in the world (in my opinion). There are two others that might compare, but they are both dead (Karen Carpenter & Eva Cassidy). Good on ya, gcw

A dying art. literally. So few are learning this beautiful genre of music. It evokes such emotion, passion and zest for life and romance.

It's probably a result of growing up in the 70s, but one of my favorite songs in recent years is "Smooth" by Santana with Rob Thomas. My wife particularly liked the lyrics that say, "I could change my life to better suit your mood . . "
She thinks that's something I should be willing to do . .

My absolute favorite secular song is "You Raise Me Up". But in a way it is also a religious song. Josh Groban calls it "Irish Gospel". I've heard "Celtic Women" sing this song and also Reggie and Lady Love Smith sing it on the newest Gaither Homecoming video, but my favorite version is done by Josh Groban. Remember the old "Name That Tune" television show? When this song is played, I can recognize it within the first two notes especially if the violin is used at the beginning. I've also seen Michelle Kwan figure skate to this song! WOW! Halfstep Denise

I fell in love with it in the 70ties and it seems to be a good summation of my life, "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" OTOH, I tell my children to be sure that at my funeral they have someone sang " She Did It Her Way." ... as a statement of me and my life's choices. God is always our bridge over troubled waters. Naomi
