** THE DIVISION OFFICERS have had a desire to manage the Division in a way that does the most possible for evangelism. The current budget calls for the normal percentages being returned to the Conferences and Unions. However, in the current budget there is an additional $190,000 being returned to each Union for evangelism. Because of God's blessing with a tithe increase, and a reduction in staff, it is possible to return even more to the Unions. At the recent constituency meetings of the Southwestern and Lake Unions, the Division Officers presented additional checks of $175,000 to the Unions along with the challenge to use it for greater evangelism in their territories. ** CITY PARK VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL DRAWS UNCHURCHED CHILDREN — With no Adventist churches nearby, Jan Sorge, a secretary in the California public school system, chose “Rancho Roundup” as her theme for summer 2005 VBS, held in Gilbert Macias Park in Merced, California last summer. A total of 42 volunteers, including one from 100 miles away, helped with everything from registration to teaching to ensuring safety.
